Collection: Sue Black

Sue is not a traditional artist but is driven by instinct, colour, texture and feeling - often leading her straight into a new medium before the last one has had time to settle.

Cheerfully chaotic by nature, Sue is known for moving between textiles, collage, reinvention of unloved items and one brief, ill-advised flirtation with taxidermy.

After years of putting creativity on hold this marks a period of play and rediscovery. Sue is currently working with collage and decoupaged glass plates — but who knows what will come next. Visitors should be prepared to buy whatever happens to come out of her head at the time.

She shares her life with her husband, their two sons, and three dogs, the latter being extremely grateful she gave up taxidermy.
