Collection: Liz Loxton

Liz Loxton has painted and drawn for as long as she can remember — and she still enjoys the process as much as the outcome.

Liz’s work centres on colour, texture and light. Rather than describing a place, she paints the feeling of being in it — the hush of a quiet space, the charge of a place half-remembered. Natural and built environments both find their way into her work.

Layering paint with other media, Liz allows space for experimentation in the studio. The paintings evolve through risk-taking and responsiveness — reaching for something sensed rather than strictly seen. That openness gives the work its depth and quiet confidence.

As an artist in residence, she offers evening classes and one-to-one tuition, sharing process, and encouraging others to make art part of everyday life rather than something saved for later.
